Three Claretian Deacons Ordained Priests in Madurai
MADURAI, Tamil Nadu – May 3, 2025: In a solemn and grace filled ceremony, three deacons of the Claretian Missionaries from the Chennai Province were ordained to the priesthood on Saturday evening. The ordination took place at 5:30 p.m. at St. John’s Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Kochadai, Madurai. The Sacrament of Holy Orders was conferred by Most Rev. Dr. Susaimanickam, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Sivagangai. The liturgy was attended by hundreds of faithful, including clergy, religious, family members, and well-wishers.

Dn. Anandraj S., CMF
Dn. Neppolian P., CMF
Present at the ceremony were several dignitaries from the Claretian Congregation, including Fr. Jesu Doss, CMF, Provincial Superior of the Chennai Province, and Rev. Fr. Joseph Mbungu Mutu, CMF, General Prefect of Formation from the Claretian Generalate in Rome. A large number of Claretian and diocesan priests concelebrated the Eucharistic celebration.
The newly ordained priests will now begin their pastoral ministry in various missions entrusted to the Claretian congregation, with a focus on evangelization, education, and service to the poor. The Claretian Missionaries, founded by St. Anthony Mary Claret, are known for their dedication to missionary work and spiritual formation. The ordination of these young men marks a significant moment for the Chennai Province, as they continue to expand their mission across India and beyond.
