The Second Annual Retreat at Sacred Heart College, in Shenbaganur, Kodaikanal.
The Second Annual Retreat was held from July 14th to 19th, 2024, at Sacred Heart College in Shenbaganur, Kodaikanal. There were 23 Claretian priests from the Chennai province gathered for the retreat, which was guided by Fr. Suresh Raj OFM Cap.
The retreat centered on the theme “Imperfection to Integration: A Psycho-Spiritual Path Retreat.” Fr. Suresh Raj OFM Cap led the participants through a series of insightful and engaging sessions designed to deepen their spiritual journey and personal growth. Key topics included “Mind Locks,”which explored various personality locks, “Knots to be United,” focusing on the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty, and obedience, and discussions on achieving happiness.
A unique feature of this retreat was the creative recitation of the rosary. Each decade was recited at different times throughout the day, from morning to evening, a practice that received much appreciation from the participants.
In addition to these sessions, the retreat included daily spiritual activities such as morning prayer, meditation, and adoration. Fr. Suresh conducted adoration in innovative ways, such as the “Emmaus Walk” and “Sleeping with Jesus,” which were highly appreciated by all the priests.
The Holy Eucharist was celebrated daily, with different participants taking turns to lead the celebration, while the homily was delivered by Fr. Suresh Raj OFM Cap.
Overall, the retreat provided a profound and enriching experience for all attendees, fostering a deeper connection with their faith and with one another.
