Manitham De-addiction ministry organised Drugs and Alcohol Awareness Seminar at Mother Clarac Matriculation School, Kumbakonam.
Kumbakonam, July 12, 2024 – A significant awareness seminar on the dangers of drugs and alcohol was conducted for students from 6th to 10th standard at Mother Clarac Matriculation School. The seminar was part of the outreach program by the Manitham De Addiction Ministry, aiming to educate young minds about the severe impacts of substance abuse.
Fr. Victor, an esteemed resource person, led the sessions. The seminar was divided into two parts to accommodate the large number of students. The morning session saw an attendance of 91 students, comprising 62 boys and 29 girls. The evening session was attended by 84 students, with 48 boys and 36 girls.
During the seminar, Fr. Victor extensively covered the negative effects of alcohol and drugs, highlighting both the physical and psychological consequences. His engaging approach ensured that the students were not only attentive but also actively participated in the discussion. The interactive format allowed students to raise their doubts, which were promptly and effectively addressed by him.
The seminar was reported to be highly beneficial for the students, providing them with crucial information and clearing many misconceptions about substance abuse. The school administration expressed their gratitude towards the Manitham De Addiction Ministry for their dedicated efforts in spreading awareness among the youth.
Overall, the event was a successful step towards educating young students about the importance of staying away from drugs and alcohol, equipping them with the knowledge to make informed decisions in their lives.
