INAUGURATION OF HONESTY SHOP
The legacy of honesty is the foundation of success and wisdom.
Thiruninravur, July 16, 2024 – Honesty is a fact of Moral character that connotes positive and virtuous attributes such as integrity, truthfulness, uprightness of conduct along with the absence of lying, cheating and theft. No legacy is so rich as honesty.
To make Honesty a practice in routine life St. Claret Matric. Hr. Sec. School, Thiruninravur, inaugurated a “Honesty Shop” in the class rooms on 16th July, 2024. 25 Honesty Shops for Students from Classes VI to XII and 5 Honesty Shops for Teachers were inaugurated. The objective behind this initiative is to inculcate the habit of honesty among students. The idea of working of this shop makes it unique from other shops. There is no seller in this shop. The students themselves take the items required by them and keep the amount in the cash box of this for value received by them. The shop is based on non-profit motive. The mechanism behind working of this shop is just to make students honest in their dealings.
Children had a wonderful time at the Honesty Shop. Within a span of an hour almost all the things were sold barring a few drawings of the students. This new venture was indeed a great success, as the teachers along with the students had to really prepare some more items to be displayed at the shop for the next day. The students of Class XII expressed that they are all really excited about the new venture “Honesty Shop”.
