Claret House at Kochadai is situated in the city of Madurai, Tamil Nadu. In the beginning, the community lived in a rented house. Later a house was bought near the school in 2014. The main specific apostolate of the community is Education. St. John’s Matriculation Higher Secondary School is in the city of Madurai. It caters to educational needs of the urban middle class and the poor. The school was started on 5th June 2002. In the Indian context of religious plurality, education is a powerful tool of evangelization. The school is one of the reputed and well-known Educational Institution in Madurai city. The growth of the school is well appreciated and admired by many in Madurai District. The school takes care of the integral education of the students with excellent blend of curricular and co-curricular activities. There are 3680 students, 3 priests, 1 perpetually professed member, 133 teaching staff and 33 supportive staff get an opportunity to be in the mission of God through the education ministry as in 2019.
The community also undertakes other two ministries namely Claret Plaza and SIRPI: A Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Counselling service was initiated for the school students, Teachers and parents in the year 2010. Then the Services were extended to the neighbouring religious and common people who seek consultation and counselling for mental health. Besides this personality improvement programs are also conducted in view of helping people to improve their personality characteristics by professionally trained personnel in the field of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
