The 175th anniversary of the Claretian congregation was celebrated with grandeur and devotion at the St. Claret Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Thiruninravur, Chennai. The event was meticulously organized by various Claretian communities within the Chennai zone, reflecting a deep sense of unity and purpose among the congregation members.

Events of the Day:-

1. Welcome and Introduction:-
The event commenced at 5:45 PM with a warm welcome to all attendees, including dignitaries, clergy, religious sisters, and laypersons. A brief introduction was given, setting the stage for the evening’s proceedings.

2. Historical Video Presentation:-
A fourteen-minute video presentation was screened, depicting the rich history of the Claretian congregation and its province. The video highlighted significant milestones, achievements, and the unwavering commitment of the Claretians to their mission over the past 175 years.

3. Holy Eucharist:-
The highlight of the celebration was the Holy Mass, presided over by Most Rev. Bishop Neethinathan, Bishop of Chingleput. His presence added a significant spiritual dimension to the event. In his homily, Bishop Neethinathan spoke eloquently about St. Claret the founder of the congregation and the impactful service of the Claretian congregation. He emphasized the importance of continuing the legacy of St. Claret through dedicated service and faith.

4. Participation of Dignitaries:-
The Mass was graced by the presence of several prominent clergy members:
Rev. Fr. Peter Thumma, Episcopal Vicar of Chennai Mylapore Archdiocese.
Fr. Clement Bala, VF of Thiruvalluvar Vicariate of the Diocese.
Rev. Fr. Jesudoss CMF, the Major Superior of the Claretian province of Chennai.
– Fr. Devadoss CMF, Vice Provincial of the Province.
– Consulters of the Provincial and the Claretians.
– Numerous diocesan & Religious priests and religious sisters.

5. Congregation and Attendance:-
The event saw an impressive turnout, with around 1200 laypersons joining the clergy and religious sisters in the celebration. The large gathering reflected the deep respect and affection that the community held for the Claretian congregation.

6. Felicitation Program:-
Following the Holy Eucharist, a felicitation program was held to honour and recognize the contributions of various individuals and groups associated with the Claretian congregation. Speeches and presentations highlighted the enduring impact of the congregation’s work in the community.

7. Communal Meal:-
The evening concluded with a communal meal, fostering a sense of fellowship and community among all attendees. The meal provided an opportunity for everyone to interact, share stories, and celebrate the congregation’s milestone together.

The event was well-received by all attendees, who appreciated the meticulous planning and execution of the program. The historical video, meaningful homily, and inclusive nature of the celebration were particularly praised. The communal meal served as a fitting end to a memorable evening, leaving everyone with a sense of gratitude and inspiration.
