Claretian Province Day held at Claret Bhavan, Karumathur

Karumathur, May 30, 2025: The Claretian Province of Chennai observed its Province Day with spiritual fervor and insightful discussions at Claret Bhavan, Karumathur. The gathering brought together all members for a day of reflection, dialogue, and fraternity. The day began at 9:30 AM with the enthronement of the Holy Bible. A hymn, scripture reading, prayer, and a welcome address set a solemn and meaningful tone for the day.

The first session, led by Fr. M. John Kennedy CMF, focused on the “Guidelines for the Protection of Minors and Vulnerable Adults from Sexual Abuse”. He emphasized the Claretian commitment to creating a safe environment in all ministries and highlighted best practices in prevention, reporting, and response.

After a tea break at 11:00 AM, the second session commenced at 11:15 AM. Fr. A. Kulandai Yesu Rajan CMF presented on the CCBI’s latest document on social media engagement. He addressed ethical responsibilities, digital witness, and practical boundaries for religious life in the digital age. The session encouraged conscious and mission-oriented use of social media platforms.

At 3:00 PM, the members gathered for a discussion on common issues, reserved for perpetually professed Claretians. This session offered a platform to address pastoral challenges, review province initiatives, and share insights relevant to the mission and communal life. The Province Day was a significant opportunity for spiritual renewal, ongoing formation, and strengthening the bonds of communion within the Claretian family.
